Expedition Guiding

After traveling extensively across the 7 continents, Ashton decided to pursue a career in expedition guiding after retiring from professional sport. Ashton is currently an expedition guide in Antarctica and the Arctic. This allows him to perfectly combine his passion for the natural world with his boat driving, presenting and research backgrounds. His job involves sharing some of the wildest places on Earth with guests on board 130-200 pax vessels.

This includes driving inflatable zodiac boats on immersive cruises along remote coastlines with full interpretation of the surroundings as well as safely transferring guests from the ship to shore. Ashton also conducts onshore guiding at view points and along long distance hikes. Ashton also lectures onboard as part of the educational program on a variety of topics including mammals, birds, fish and geography.
